When will there be a fix from Apple for the installing issues with iTunes update 11.1.4?
Windows 7
Do the following:
If you follow these instructions to the letter it should fix the issue:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
Run the installer ad Admin.
I had this problem and followed the recommended solution (less the admin and re-boot suggestion) and it was successful.
Install as admin and a reboot after uninstall seem te be necesarry for some people.
I am admin so that was no issue for me.
And a reboot wasn't necessary on my Vista and Win7 systems.
Just uninstall everything Apple (linked to iTunes) and reinstall iTunes.
In my opinion people who have the most problems solving the issue don't use a registry cleaner.
If you keep your registry clean you are less likely to have issues.
Thanks for your post. I'm having the same problem. Two quick questions: does one have to reinstall the Apple programs that have been deleted? Second, will the missing MSVCR80.dll be reinstalled with this fix?
Once you've cleaned out the existing components reinstalling iTunes should replace everytjing that it needs to work and resolve the start-up error.

MSVR80 was corrected. Apple Application Support,Bonjour, Apple Software Update, itunes and Apple Mobile Device Support all magically re-installed as part of 11.1.4.
Nothing to add to what tt2 said. 😎
The iTunes installer does it all for you (no real magic). 😉
Thanks everybody who have responded so promptly. It worked like a dream! Thanks once again.
You're welcome. 🙂

had problems with update 11.1.4. Did the download only option which was suggested when problem occurred. ran intunes installer by itself. still didn't work so followed instructions here to uninstall from windows itunes, apple software update, apple mobile device support, bonjour and apple application support in that order. apple mobile deive support did not uninstall. downloaded latest version of itunes from apple. restarted computer and installed the new downloaded version which installed fine. however, now when try to start itunes, the message Itunes LibrARY.ITL CANNOT BE READ BECAUSE IT WAS CREATED BY A NEWER VERSION OF ITUNES. Now what do I do? I assume this is result of running itunes installer from download only.
Thanks this fixed the problem.
I used the instructions you all provided here and it worked perfectly everything is back to normal and intact. Thank You.
Yipee. I also followed the uninstall instructions and everything is A.O.K. All music files fine and ITUNES is up and running. Thanks so much everyone!!🙂
