How to remove APSDaemon.exe
Well, yesterday when I got on my computer, I got an update thing for Itunes. So I clicked like I regularly do, and usually have no problems with it updating.
But this time I did. Something didn't work right, and it wouldn't update. I tried the update again, and it didn't work. Maybe I tried it another time too. Had to cancel it because it kept running in a loop.
Then I decided to download the Itunes program from the website. That didn't work either.
So I think, maybe I should uninstall the old Itunes program first. So I go to programs and applications and remove it, just like you're supposed to. Then I try downloading it, and it still doesn't work.
Since I don't use the Itunes app all that much, I decide to heck with Itunes and I'll leave it deleted. All this had already eaten up about 2 hours worth of my day. I add a link on my desktop for windows media player and decide I'll just use that. I'm good with this.
Then today I get on my computer, and first thing, I'm greeted with this:
So first thing, I suspect a virus, and do virus scans. Nothing from that, a-okay. Then I open the screen shot I took and get the program names. The message says:
APSDaemon.exe - system error
The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
So next I do an internet search on APSDaemon.exe, and discover it's connected to apple software. So now, here I am, and that blasted apple update from yesterday is still sucking up more of my time!
My internet search resulted in the following find:
http://www.file.net/process/apsdaemon.exe.html
They say:
The process known as Apple Push belongs to software Apple Application Support or Safari by Apple(www.apple.com).
Now under programs and features, this 'Apple Application Support' is there. So here's my question for the community:
Itunes is uninstalled. I plan to leave it that way for now.
I want to get rid of this error message on startup.
Will removing the software - Apple Application Support - get rid of this startup error - without causing problems with something else?
Thanks in advance for your help.
