G'day Caverons,
"Install and Update" is what caused the problem for me, updating from v11.1.3.8 to v11.1.4.62 on windows XP Pro SP3 and Windows 7 Ultimate, it refused to do this and stuffed up both OS's with startup errors, email delays caused by "MobileMe Services", Runtime errors "R6034", and countless other errors trying to delete temporary files, i.e. empty the Temp folder.
Noteworthy is the fact that this is not an isoloated instance as it is happening to "tens of thousand+" of User Systems worldwide.
The "Revo Uninstaller" is not needed as the built-in Add and Remove in XP and the Programs and Features in Win 7U or Win 8 will and does do the job of uninstalling the components of iTunes etc.
The method described in the relevant OS links followed correctly will do the job of uninstalling the components.
Most of you will undoubtedly forget to reboot after the first steps, i.e. you must reboot after Step 1 instructions before you go to deleting the folders described in step 2, etc. and also reboot after completing step 2 before you go to step 3 and re-install iTunes.
This is where "Jacki02" and "Jeadon" may have gone wrong and I suggest they start again with the procedures outlined in
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP\
or
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Ypou must read the instructions carefully, print a hard copy if you can and then tick off each step as you perform them is a good idea to follow.
I'm glad that it all worked for "Lady K-OS"
