Easiest way to delete photos that were transferred for PC to IPad? It won't let me delete normally. Do I need an app?

Was transferring photos from PC to IPad , 3rd gen, and realized that there are duplicate pics now. Need to delete the duplicates, but IPad won't let me do anything other than copy. Need help please..

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi + Cellular, iOS 7.0.4

How did you transfer from the PC to the iPad? If you synced with iTunes, you can only delete the synced photos by syncing again and not selecting the the albums that you want to delete.

See this document: iTunes: Syncing photos

To delete synced photos and videos from your device

  1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
  2. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
  3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
  4. Click Apply.
