MobileMe is messing with my Outlook since the latest iTunes update. I have no intention of upgrading Outlook just for iTunes as the Outlook is my personal account and I have no need to have MobileMe attached

How do I detach MobileMe from my personal Outlook file?

Windows XP

I'm running XP - yes, I know... However it is "stable" with "features". I've followed ronald52 suggestion on how to rename C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\OutMMe32.dll to have another extension, and when I re-ran Outlook - (I haven't see it run that fast in YEARS!) as the MobilMe Control Panel doesn't have a "remove" option in the Add/Remore programs too. Once I re-ran iTune after renaming OutMMe32.dll, iTunes had to reconfigure - after pointing iTunes to my library, everything seems to be working fine. I subsequently reran Outlook, and it is now running slowly again (ARGH!).

ronald52 suggested that I read and follow the discussion in this thread and to your suggestions - the only thing is that the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility (MS Installer "Fixit") appears to be for 64 bit machines. Instead of clicking the "Run Now" Green Button, I clicked on the link below it that states: Advanced-Download to run on a different or disconnected computer, which opened up more text saying:

  • Click Download below, then click Run or Open in your browser and follow the onscreen prompts to create the Fix it Portable folder
  • Then copy the Fix it Portable folder to the computer with the problem and run the Launch Fix it application

This sounds like it is still for a 64 bit machine... As the Filename doesn't ahve any clues

(MicrosoftFixit-ortable.exe). Am I correct?

If so, by chance are you aware of a simular tool that can be run on a 32 bit machine?

Thank-you for your time and considerations!
