My iphone is not showing up as a device in itunes when it is plugged into my computer, how do I fix this?

This worked for me! Wish Apple would include this info when the provide updates to Itunes and IOS

Oh, Thank you so much. I tried everything. It seems odd I would have to go manually find this driver myself. It seems like any update that Apple sends they would get that all figured out for me.

But thank you, this fixed my problem of not being able to see my ipod in the devices on iTunes.

I have tried the same process, but after the last step usbaapl, the have disk doesn't appear, I have tried both ways, but did not work for me, can you please help me what to do with this issue, thanks.

Try the following:

1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
2. Plug in your device
3. Locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
4. Right-click and select Update Driver Software...
5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
6. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
   C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
7. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
8. Click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
9. Click Next, then Close and exit Device Manager

If that hasn't fixed things see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. A full tear down and rebuild may be in order.

I also had this problem, but this is how I sorted it:

I had to totally un install iTunes by removing the 5 key programmes and in this order or it wont work:

1. Delete iTunes

2. Delete Apple software update

3. Delete Mobile device support

4. Delete Bonjour

5. Delete the apple installer 32-bit and the 64-bit if you have one or both

now restart your Pc/Laptop and download the latest iTunes

once downloaded reconnect your device via the USB data transfer cable and your phone will now appear in iTunes

It is an Apple support page. I was having the same problem you were having so I removed the version of iTunes I had on my computer and downloaded an older version. After that iTunes started picking my iPhone up right away. Hope this helps and good luck.
