Command & Conquer Generals on WinMac

I have a MacBook 1.83 with Windows XP pre-installed, and I was wondering if anybody knew why my computer will not install Command & Conquer Generals. Other games, such as Dune 2000 have installed just fine, but when I try to install C&C:G the disc drive reads it verrrry slowly. It takes almost an hour to reach 99% installation, and when it does, it stops. It will not go any further. I even bought an extra copy of the game to see if it was just the disc, but the same thing occurs. Can anybody help me?
