How can I track my phone even though its turned off? I have an Iphone 5S.

Hi, I agree with you. Apple should do something and be able to track misplaced/stolen phones. This is a plain business strategy. A business that gives customer security can certainly rake in more profit. On humanitarian side, those Iphones are expensive and mostly popular with new entrants to the business world. Apple should make t heir product secure for their customers.

Hi, my reply may be too late but I just want to put this out there--- go back to your carrier and they can give you something ( not your stolen phone). My carrier is helping with my misplaced/missing/stolen phone

Um, I haven't lost my phone. And, even if I had, I have my old phone set aside as a back up.

However, the major U.S. carrier I worked for for 20 years did not "give" people replacement phones. They had to purchase new ones.

You can't track it if it's turned off or if it isn't connected to the Internet when turned on.

If the iPhone is turned off or not connected to the internet, there is no way it can be tracked.

Report it to your carrier, change your passwords on all accounts.

so i have one of the most advanced technological device out there, but if it gets stolen or lost there's no way i can find it back???? I've always thought there was some kind of device inside the phone so we would be able to track it down using GPS; i.e. if the person turns on the phone even with a new simcard, we would be able to find it.

use FindMyIphone It gives you where it last was. I think it tracks the location every minute then when the battery dies. It has the last location that the battery died at

No it does not...it only shows a current location if the device is powered on and connected to the internet. If it is powered down or not connectec it will simply say, Off Line. No other indication of location is possible or given.

What's up with the forums? I don't see replies, sometimes, I don't see topic titles, there's no Report link. Lounge access returns the your are forbidden from accessing error like it's been deleted. Very screwy. Do you see the same at your location?

uhmmm My iphone 5s was stolen yesterday and I'm thinking what if the person who stole it deletes the find my iphone app, would I still be able to track it?

deleting the app from the phone has nothing to with whether or not find my iphone is enabled on the device.
