How can I track my phone even though its turned off? I have an Iphone 5S.

The find my iPhone app does NOT have anything to do with finding the iPhone on which it is installed. The find my iPhone app allows you to find your other devices from your iPhone.

Um I dont known why everyone is saying your phone has to be on and connected to the internet, while wi-fi will help get a more precise location, the app can also ping cell towers to find yhe phones last location. I do know they have something out where it can turn on an off phone, except I forget what it is called. I think the phone is never completely off or something. I don't know the details but it is something like that

Not if the phone is turned off, which is what the original question was about.

Because if it's not powered on how on Earth do you expect it to emit a GPS signal that will allow it to be located?

The iPhone can certainly be turned off and when it is, it cannot be tracked.

Not sure what you chose to post incorrect information on a post that is almost two years old.

Which will only work if the phone is turned on and able to connect to a network.

I have this question too. I think that apple should do something about these situations, because if somebody steal your iphone and switch it off, he could easily erase it by a hacker's help. So I believe that apple haveto track it even if it is turned off.

And how, exactly, do you think that Apple can implement a tracking system for what is, essentially a brick? If the phone is off (or somewhere where there is no network), that's all it really is: a chunk of glass and metal and plastic. How would you remotely track, say, your glasses?
