I can't get my Iphone 5S to sync with my laptop and I have tried all of the troubleshooting ideas and still it doesn't work...Help?

Until recently, I was able to sync my IPhone 5S to my laptop with has Windows 8 on it and had no issues. For the past week now for some reason, I can't get it to sync or even reconize my phone. I have tried all of the troubleshooting results and still it doesn't work. Can anyone help?

I've received absolutely No help to resolve this issue... so have go no further... I cannot get music onto the phone... At least the calling and camera still work... I shall be ditching this for another Samsung as this is the latest in a catalogue of issues with this iphone model...
