No, any problem. Only when I try to open iTunes after the installation.

Hmm, locate the iTunes entry in your start menu, right-click on it and click Properties. On the Compatibility tab check the Run this program as an administrator box. Does iTunes open normally now? If so you should be able to remove that check box and have it continue to run normally.

No, iTunes continuing with the same error after check the Run this program as an administrator box. As well I tried to re-installer iTunes.

Take a look at iTunes for Windows: "Error 7" message when opening iTunes. Perhaps your .NET Framework needs a repair.

Hi, I was able to finally resolve ITunes Error code 7 (windows error 5) after talking with level 2 tech support at Apple. I had to remove AVG antivirus from my PC in order to get ITunes to download. For whatever reason, AVG was interfering with the installation. I used Microsoft FixIt to uninstall AVG and then attempted to install ITunes and it worked. Check to see if you have AVG or some other type of antivirus that may be giving you trouble.

I had the same problem after updating itunes and spent 2 days trying to figure it out.

I tried everything. The Net. Framework suggestions didn't work.

I deleted my antivirus AVG, and it worked right away!

Thank you SO much. I created an account on this forum just so I could thank you. I've been trying for days installing and uninstalling iTunes, various apple programs, etc with no success and finally came across your suggestion to remove AVG, which worked like a charm. VERY much appreciated.

i fixed this issue by removing every Apple software that came with iTunes (from control panel) and installed the newest version of iTunes from apples pages. For me this worked, hopefully it will work for everyone else as well.

Hello, I know this is almost 3 years late, but what fiex unknown error 5 for me was launching iTunes as an administrator! Try it and feedback me if it works!

I did all of that before you replied. Still didnt help.

When my iTunes crashed, it turned out my hard drive crashed. Might want to check your hardware

I dont have AV software on this computer anymore, I have a laptop too, but there is litrally no way I can switch my songs over.
