Macbook pro retina screen damaged using alcohol swab

I have used alcohol swab on my macbook laptop screen and its damaged,


can some one tell me what is damaged using alchol, coz i dont know what to search on net, is this black tint coating, or what


and should i have to replace full screen or only coating.

I went to the apple store today and my MBP 15" and had my screen replaced.

The coating is wearing off and its a production issue for certain years around 2013 only.

If you have what looks like oil spots and wear on the retina screen, it will only get worse but its covered under replacement if this is done within one year of Oct2015. Read this article. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2493374,00.asp

The value is about $662 to replace screen at no cost to you.

HI There, Depending on the year that you purchased this, It may actually be eligible for coverage under a recall programme Apple is offering on select MacBook Retuna Displays, As this coating has been known to cause issues and myself have had mine replaced under warranty. Although as you've obviously learnt alcohol products aren't the best for this exact reason, I cant say I've ever had anything on my screen that I couldn't rremove with a microfibre cloth.
