I noticed I have a free upgrade to Mavericks. However, the application I'm using that prompted the search for the upgrade doesn't support Mavericks, I need Mountain Lion and I can't find a free upgrade to it anywhere. My question is; Why do I have a free upgrade to Mavericks and NOT Mountain Lion?

Yeah I noticed it's there for purchase, pretty inexpensive as well $20. But I was just curious as to why the newer version is free and I can't find Mt. Lion for free, and that's the one I need. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place or it's just unavailable?
It's not available for "free" but Mavericks is.
