Apple TV does not show up in iTunes

Have not used my Apple TV in a while. It is connected to the wifi network here, I tested it. But it does not show up in my iTunes on my Mac computer. It used to show up on my PC that just went down, I'm trying to get it on the Mac. Is there something I am supposed to do to have it show up in iTunes, 11.1.4?

Which Apple TV do you have, the Apple TV 2 & 3 don't show up in iTunes like the Apple TV 1 did.

Only the old alu appletv show up in devices in itunes

If you had it sycned with another device before like a windows pc you need to unlink it in the settings on the appletv
