Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Have an old dual 5 tower that my wife uses (was mine). Screen is black at startup, the keyboard/mouse is unresponsive and the fans go into overdrive. Any ideas or are we talking landfill here....

Is no alt key on a Mac. I assume you mean option...and no. Have been shutting it down early in the start up process b/c nothing was happeing. Hope that hasn't screwed the pooch....
Yeah, could be option, Apple has called it both or either one in the past.
I don't think any additional harm has been done, but not sure what to try now...
