Mustek 1200 USB scanner does not work on Maverick OS. What is the problem?

I recently did a software update (big mistake) to Maverick from Mountain lion> Before this my Mustek Scanner 1200 USB worked fine.

Now after I preview the scan and attempt to save to the HD I get a message that the software is "incompatible manufacture?

This makes no sense to me as it worked fine before I clicked Software Update. I can't find anything on Mustek support page and

no answer from Mustek (disappointment but no surprise sad to say). Does anyone know how I can get the scanner to be accepted

by the iMac?
