OS X Mavericks v10.9.1: Repeated prompts to unlock "Local Items" keychain,no matter how I tried.HELP, PLEASE!

I"ve tried the above method. But it still appears all the time. Terrible.

Thank you for your detailed postings! I am also fighting the keychain login issue, after a (partially successful) restore of a TimeMachine backup. I am following your steps, starting with deleting the login keychain in Keychain Access, and deleted references only. Went to the ~/Library/Keychains folder and renamed the file login.keychain, but there is no "login_renamed_1.keychain" file? What did I miss?

I have been to the ~/Library/Keychains folder daily, deleting the folder with the long numerical name, per this article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5362), but that obviously is not working, so I'm hoping to make your fix work! Thanks!!
