What happened to Quicktime's new screen recording option?
I wanted to record a video and now the only option I can see is the built-in camera of myself.
I have Mac OSX 10.9.1 with the lastest updates.

You want to record a video from a camera or do you want to record what is shown on your display?
The first is new movie recording and the second is new screen recording. The option is under the file menu (unless you're trying to find it in QuickTime Player 7).
A few months ago I was able to record what was playing on my screen. So I guess the new updates gave me Quicktime 7.
Only options there is new movie recording or new audio recording. Under movie recording it opens up my isight camera.
QuickTime Player 7 doesn't allow screen recording.
Open QuickTime Player (10.3) found in the Applications folder. It allows screen recording.
I was just about to write about that. For some reason I went back to Qucktime and played the recording of myself
and went to delete it. There in the list I saw "new screen recording" I looked at the "about Quicktime player" and found that it was indeed 10.3 I am not sure what I deed to get that but there it is.
