my photos are now appearing sideways in iphoto. Any suggestions?

My photos are all suddenly appearing sidways in iphoto. This is for my entire photo collection- not just recent imports. They appeared normally until now. Any suggestions.

Select all of the Photos and use the Photos ➙ Revert to Original menu option. See if that will reset the orientation of the photosl.

That test library was just a text. If reberting to original doesn't fix the problem it's time to try to fix your current library. Do the following:

1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.

2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database, followed by Option #1 and Option #2 if necessary.

Not to my knowledge. I updated iphoto this AM hoping it would help, but it hasn't. Strangely, the random photos in my screen saver show up in the right direction. But when I look at I my 33,000 photo archive in iphoto, everything is rotated sideways.

I had started upgrading to Maverick OS earlier in the week, but had forgotten to input my password so I don't think that was the issue. I inputed my password last night and completed the upgrade after I noticed the problem. Strangely, the random photos in my screen saver show up in the right direction. But when I look at I my 33,000 photo archive in iphoto, everything is rotated sideways.

I launched a test library, and imported new pictures which came out in the correct direction. But I don't know how to move the other 33,000 pictures over to the new file to see if that works. The new library only has the new pcitures. I tried copying and pasting my old library, but the computer says that will take 14 hours. Any help how to do that would be appreciated.

Interestingly, I then imported new pictures into my old album, and they appear in the right direction. Which makes me think that somehow my 33,000 pictures got rotated. But I can't figure out how to rotate multiple pictures at the same time or why my screen savers show the old pictures in the right direction.

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

Thank you so much for the help! It worked. I still wonder how they all got messed up but that can be an unsolved mystery!
