You can connect via a cable or wireless using an Apple TV.

Hi Texas Mac Man

I am setting a similar thing up in a classroom at my school and a 1024x768 (XGA) VGA connected projector. I am using an Apple TV 1080p and an Apple supplied Belkin HDMI to VGA adapter.

I can configure the screen to fit perfectly when using the menus, slide shows, screen savers, etc and when playing video content BUT...

The main reason I bought the ATV and VGA adapter was to do AirPlay Screen Mirroring from the iPad Airs in class. I can do this but, even with the iPads on landscape orientation I get black bars at both sides of the screen which mean that the mirrored iPad screen is distorted/squashed into a square, rather than the required 4:3 aspect!

Is there something I can do to remedy this?! ATV seems like the ideal way of integrating iPads into our classrooms but as all our existing projectors are 4:3 aspect this is clearly a problem.

Many thanks if you can help.

Jon
