How can I get my video from my DVD to iMovie?
I want to put my home video from this camera to iMovie, Can it be done?

I also have a Sony DVD camcorder with a usb connection and an imac g5.

I plug my camera in via usb with the disc in that I want to extract the files from. I then drag off the .vob files onto the desktop or a folder. I open the program DVDxDV and open the .vob files into it. Then I 'extract' the movie to a quicktime file that will be compatable with imovie. Then the video can be imported into imovie.

The process is relatively quick and you can extract the segments you want. There are several choices what format to convert to and size.

DVDxDV is $25 for the home user and $80 for a pro version. The demo version is very helpful to use to determine if this is the product for you. The demo video will be watermarked until it is purchased, but you can determine if this is what you need before purchasing.
