You all aren't reading the responses, this is a limitation Apple has put in place on purpose at the request of the mobile carriers. The limit used to be 50MB but it was raised a couple years ago to 100MB. There are lots of free WiFi hotspots available. If you truly don't have access to WiFi at home, can't tether off another device then I suggest you go to one of these locations. Alternately you could download the update via iTunes and update via your computer. Any other methods are hacks, and with any hack, your mileage will vary considerably.
Yes me to, why apple?? 😓😓 why youre reason in my place wifi difficult not found, and my celluler data still many
I’m I the only one this doesn’t work for? Ugh, am I doing this wrong?
Its not working hmm 😔 Is there any other way to dll apps over 100mb using data?
Nothing has changed between the 6s and the 8, except the download limit being increased in size. And obviously there is nothing that I can do about the limit.
Data limitation is just plain stupid
The workaround is quite simple:
After sync completes the app will be there.
OK, I now know that it's an iOS limit, so you can't change the fact. A way around it is to download the app to iTunes on a computer and then sync it to your iOS device. Or, you can set up a personal hotspot and tether with another device.
Cannot update facebook because of this issue.
Tried restart after but it doesn't work.
Iphone SE here.
Android still the best compare to Ios.
Its been 3 days I dis not use my fb and it *****. I had an unlimited plan.
Yup it's an havvy data used and it's proper to use your app that's whay it need wifi after 100 Mv but u don't worry about it h have to download it given by hospot wich has another device internet connection. If it's start then u have to switch to your cellular data
The bypass for this is easy. If your carrier supports a hotspot feature, activate it. Obviously your phone can't connect to itself (lol) but your hotspot makes the phone think it's getting wifi. So then when done with the app. Just turn it back off.
I'm using an iPhone 5s and don't have a WiFi network that I can connect to. Couldn't get the restart method to work but did this instead: Used phone to create a mobile hotspot. Connected laptop to hotspot and used iTunes on the laptop to download the app from the store. Connected my iPhone to the laptop and used iTunes to sync the app to the phone.
