Using multiple Presonus Inspire 1394's with GB

Thanks for the info and it worked! Excellent. My only issue now is how to monitor ALL four microphones at once. That is, i want to be able to hear everyone talking through my headphones. I've tried using both the aggregated and built-in devices for the "audio output" but with no luck. Each Inspire also has a headphone jack for zero latency monitoring, but when i use this on the unit that's plugged into the computer i can only hear the sound from microphones plugged into that device, and not from the 2nd Inspire.

Thanks. I've tried that, and while it works, i get some latency. I've changed the setting in GB prefs to larger buffer size, which made a difference, but there's still enough to make it noticeable.

I'm using a 17" MacBook Pro and it only has one Firewire 400 port, so i can't test if plugging in each Inspire separately does anything differently from daisy-chaining them.

However, i seem to have everything working well now. Once you have created the aggregated device, (and selected it in GB prefs as the input device) each track in GB will show 8 channels of input. However, make sure when you create the aggregated device that it's sampling rate is 44.1K. The Inspire can record up to 96K, but i seemed to have problems when i used a sampling rate higher than 44.1K. It's a pity that Presonus don't tell you about this extra step, but i suppose that's what forums like this are for!!

I'm using these for podcasting and it'll be great to be able to do panel discussions using the four microphones, all being recorded onto separate tracks.
