New EPSON XP-100 scanner; trying to download driver for OS X Mavericks. get a pop-up saying "can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server." Any ideas where I can download a driver for this?
Hi, I have a MacBookPro. Downloading printer drivers has never been a problem before. I recently updated from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, on the recommendation from Apple tech.
The printer installation, following instructions, takes a while to "download" but then says it can't install the printer driver as its not available from the Update Server. Going via Epson directs to Apple support for the Mac driver. The "Download Epson drivers" from Apple I aborted after 50 minutes and only 20% completed with no idea what it was downloading - all of them??
Looking at the Apple list of drivers, it includes "Epson XP-100", which is what I was asked by the Mac Detector pop-up if I wanted to download a driver for; then it came up with the failure message "not currently available".
The list does NOT include "Epson Home Expression XP-100", which is the name on the box.
After 3 hours and several different ways trying to access a driver for the new printer, I am stuck.
Any ideas please? IS there a driver for this printer suitable for Mavericks?
Thanks in advance :-)
