battery drain on 7.0.6

There have been many many discussions, but they seem to get streamed to different threads. No one has come up with a solution, but Apple created the problem and I am sure they will solve it.

Just upgraded my 4s......It was chargeing when I did the update, it came out of updateing and stopped chargeing. Never unplugged so it's not a cable / hardware problem.... Not to be real insulting, but did Apple hire Microsoft for the software????

kadesa, I upgraded to my iphone 5 to 7.1 and I still have the problem 😢

From the moment I upgraded to 7.0.6 two weeks ago, the battery time has been awful... I tried all the trick in this thread and others (except resetting the phone and restoring from backup). That is my next step...

Hi Graz75, don't bother resseting from back up, I did that twice but no joy, but if u feel like u can give it a shot maybeen u will succeed, for me it didn't, even doing all that is stated in the forum but it didn't help, I assume apple will be the only one to solve this dam error they caused.

Battery drain for me seems to be back to about normal after turning carrier setting to manual. Not sure if that was coincidence. However, charging still takes close to 2 days and phone doesn't respond to plugging into iTunes. So, still an underlying problem that needs to be fixed by Apple. And wife's phone is still not charging.

This is precisely the reason I'm going to wait to update to 7.1. I've tried turning off Siri and re-calibrating my battery...all still to no avail.

My battery was charged to 100% this morning and after sending one text, making one 3 minute phone call, and checking and responding to 4 emails, my battery already down to 74%. Wish I would have never updated to 7.0.6...

@ kadesa even me I wish I never updated to ios 7.0.6 cos 7.0.4 and 7.0.5 never gave me this battery issue

Huffington Post suggested several steps to improve battery life to address the new IOS battery problems. I tried all of them, and again lost 30% battery overnight.

Thanks for this! I plan to perform my updates using this method from this point on. I don't believe my wife's 4S has been updated since 7.05, so I will try it out on her phone.

Why not go ahead and update to 7.1? You are already at a high inconvenience level now anyway, what do you have to lose?

I'm considering it, but I'm waiting first to see or hear if anyone (namely, Apple!) comes up with viable solution to the battery drain issue.

well, after my switching siri back on for cross checking (see last posts), I tested that as well, and I think you are on a right track there... if it is a co-incidence, it is one with my case here as well...

phone under 7.1 after upgrade and siri switched back on and some background update apps as well, but provider chosen manually ... holds the energy quite long and quite well... to almost 2 days, like in the old times...
