After Upgrading to 10.9.2 Isight is not working

These instructions solved my problem. Is important to note that I had AirParrot installed and I have downloaded and run the uninstaller - this did NOT solve the problem.

I have tried other solutions, including resetting the PRAM, but after using these commands and restarting did solve the issue indeed.

Yeah, remove all starting with AV*

Open Terminal, issue the following:

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AV*

I would also advise to update boot cache. Kext Utility may help. Reboot and check whether the cam's working.

Safe mode camera works,

facebook video call camera works,

in skype if you want to change the profile picture camera works, but does not work on skype video call

facetime, photobooth no camera detected

other application, NO camera DETECTED !!

I tried

Fresh install mavericks

reset PRAM

unistall mirroring softwares( as some suggested in internet)

still cant figure out whats actually is the problem.

AVFrameBuffer.kext

AVVideoCard.kext

Remove them, download and run Kext Utility, reboot and enjoy.

And read before asking.

I don't have any AV extensions, never installed AirParrot or any other mirrors, Camera still keeps disappearing/appearing - mostly disappearing.

Happy to post anything for help.

I (believe) I have tried everything suggested - reinstalling mavericks, repairing disk permissions, PRAM reset.

Would really appreciate any additional suggestions.

Clean up the list you sent.

You have a different source of a problem. You've said that sometimes camera works, sometimes doesn't. I presume there must be hardware issue, since all the kexts you have are generally native Apple's ones. Try booting into safe mode. If your cam keeps misbehaving even there - welcome to Apple Service. One more test to be done, is to remove 3rd party kexts anyway, it's HP's in your case, though I hesitate that they can cause the issue.

sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/hp*

Up to today - 2-nd May there are NO solution for iSight issue, please confirm that 🙂

I am desperated - nothing work - I have no third part .kext, applications to remove (PRAM and other VOO-DOO's was done, ).

Just - Suddenly, one day iSight stoped work.

Is that any way to get (download) working Apple_iSight.kext file and make iSight Cam working again?

or there is nothing like this file in 10.9.2?
