After Upgrading to 10.9.2 Isight is not working

Hi,

i just updated Mavericks to 10.9.2 on my Mac Book Pro (3.1). Now Facetime and Photo Booth is not working anymore.

Facetime is not working at all and crashes. Photo Booth tells me that isight is not connected.

The Isight is still visible in the System Monitor.

Any Ideas? It is really frustrating, beacuse i am not able to use facetime anymore.

I had the same problem (iSight not working after update to 10.9.2 and ReportCrash process blocking the CPU) and now it seems 10.9.3 fixed it. Tests I made:

- iSight now appears in the HW report

- iSight works with PhotoBooth

- iSight does not lock VLC (which seems to access iSight before loading any .vls video)

- and most of all no ReportCrash process running forever at 100% CPU till shutdown of the Mac!

(now however I have no more access to my /users folder ....)

This morning I upgraded to OS X 10.9.3, and that fixed my problem. DisplayLink is working properly again. Many thanks to the folks who figured out the workaround to get us by until the fix became available.

Side note:

Yesterday, I installed 10.9.3 and iTunes 11.2 on my other Mac, before I knew anything about the missing User folder issue. I checked this morning, and found that I had Find My Mac enabled, but I could see my User folder just fine. I upgraded to iTunes 11.2.1 just to play it safe.

Hi guys! I have this problem with the built in isight camera in a MacBookPro 5,5 13 inch (Mid 2009).

I updated to Mavericks 10.9.3 and isight crashed. If I launch Facetime (or Skype, Photo Booth) led brights in green but the image is always black. I tried all suggestions from this post and no success. So I did a clean install of MacOs X 10.9.3 and no success too. Finally I did the repair permissions on disk, PRAM and SMC reset with the same result.

Can someone help me with this issue, please?

Thank you in advance.

P.D.: Sorry for my bad english.

No need to multi-post beyond your other queries on this same issue.

Having already done the research and tried http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6431, including every other relevant suggestion from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090:

Unless you have a current backup of your Mac, make one now.

Then use the final "Troubleshooting" suggestion:

"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

I have a DisplayLink AOC monitor and noticed that iSight camera stopped working using PhotoBooth after I installed the latest 2.2beta version of the drivers on my iMac with Mavericks.

Since I didn't want to uninstall the drivers or reinstall OSX, I tried just unplugging the display from my iMac USB port and found the iSight camera worked.

When I want to use the iSight camera, I unplug the display and when I want to use the display I plug it in.

Sad that it is mutually exclusive arrangement, but it still allows me to use both camera and display, although not simultaneously...
