ipod updater

In my 'Add or Remove Programs' section on the computer, I currently have 5 iPod updater packages on it

.iPod for Windows 2005-02-07
.iPod for Windows 2005-09-23
.iPod for Windows 2005-11-17
.iPod for Windows 2006-01-10
and
.iPod for Windows 2006-03-23

I want to delete as many of them as possible to free up hard drive memory, but I'm stuck as I had past experiences of deleting a couple of them which ended up in having to restore my ipod and messing up itunes.

Can anyone help please?

iPod Mini 6gb, Windows XP

Once you have installed the software on your iPod it isn't necessary to keep the updater installer stored on your computer.

However, wise heads around these parts keep at least one version that is known to work in case any newer version that you may install on the iPod in the future contains bugs and causes problems. Read some of the posts on this and other iPod forums to see how some folks have wished they'd never updated the software on their iPods but can't roll back a version because they've deleted any others they may have had stored on their computer.

Apple don't keep older software updaters available for download, and they are very often difficult to find online. If you are worried about them taking up storage space, why not save them to a CD?

You just never know when, or if, you may need one.
