iPhone acts odd, crazy, touch screen, random behavior, while charging

This post only addresses iPhone acting up while charging and using the device.

Problem:

I have a cord and wall charger I take with me in my laptop case. It charges the iPhone fine, but... when I attempt to use the iPhone while it charges on this cord the touch sreen responds CRAZY, or RANDOM, like an invisible finger is pressing another area of the screen.

I can not consistantly or hardly OPEN the device by "slide to unlock" .... most of the time it actually ZOOMs in like the 3 Finger touch.

ONLY when I unplug the phone can I "slide to unlock" and have normal use of phone.

Troubleshooting:

We have 5 Apple devices I tried all the Cords with all wall Plugs...

Solution:

Turns out that we some how have a Wall Plug that doesn' appear to be "Designed by Apple in CA"

All the other plugs either have an Apple Logo or state "Designed by Apple in CA"

...This one that doesn't work properly has the same model #'s and voltage written on the face, but says "Power Adapter made in China"

It Charges fine but, must have a grounding issue or something that causes the touch screen to respond Crazy & Odd.

I Marked this one with a sharpie marrker "X", we just use it to Charge as a last resort.

If you have similar issues this could be your best bet....test it yourself with another cord or wall plug.

iPod touch, Windows XP

I was just pulling my hair out trying to reply to an Amazon survey and noticed the same issue. When I Googled the issue and came across this post I noticed my phone was in fact plugged it. As soon as I unplugged the phone it started to behave normally again. Thanks a bunch for posting this issue as it just saved me from pulling the rest of my hair out. Seems that the budget charger block I got from the neighborhood Walgreens isn't Apple Compliant. Who would have guessed.

Even a certified cable can cause problems if it has been damaged. I had a perfectly good Belkin, MFI certified car charger that started causing problems after I'd accidentally shut it in the car door and damaged it.

FYI -

Brand new two day old iPhone SE with leather case from Apple Store and charger is the lightening cord provided in box. Using iPhone on charger with leather case on and the screen acts oddly. Disconnect charger leaving case on and problem goes away but at times screen acts up when in its leather case and NOT charging. When I remove the case it returns to perfect operation. iPhone SE with no case on and charging on lightening charger provided from box and the screen can be counted on to act screwy too. Remove charger and iPhone once again acts fine. Problem has occurd while iPhone SE was charging on the lightening while plugged into MacBook Pro and when lightening cord was plugged into USB connection on night stand lamp base, and in 2015 BMW USB charger slot in car. Battery level has indicated anything from 23%, to 60% and even at 100% when screen problems occurred while charging and doesn't seem to be a cooralation. Apple Store employee acted like I was complaining about a new problem stating he hadn't heard of any problems like this before. I told him to read the internet and specifically the Apple forums. There's a problem! I purchased this iPhone SE to replace a lost/stolen iPhone two days ago in the hopes of buying the NEW iPhone 10(?) when it comes out this fall. Frustrating Issue Indeed!! I hope my experience helps you.
