iPhone acts odd, crazy, touch screen, random behavior, while charging

Does anyone on here have an Otterbox phone cover? I've found that the touchscreen on my iPhone 6 is being randomly accessed because it's sensitivity is so high. When I removed my Otterbox everything works fine.

Same phone, same computer - and same issue just started.

I wonder if its the cable and/or the lightening port - as for the last 2 days I've been plugging the phone in either to the laptop, or to a wall charger and it's not necessarily started charging.

I Have been having the "ghost clicking" problem on 5 different iPhone 6s Plus iPhones in my house! I finally figured it out! We have a metal roof and the tempered glass screen protectors that I bought for my phone, my wife's phone and our 3 teenagers phones all had some type of metal edging so when we got into the car or near any metal buildings our iPhones went crazy! Calling People on thier own texting surfing the net ect! I Took my screen protector off and no more problems- I bet this also applies if you have any type of metal case! So glad it's fixed I was ready to throw a $500 iPhone out the car window!

I bought an ipad mini 2 years ago,and an Iphone 5s the next may of the same year. Because both cable and chargers looks the same, I keep the Iphone original cables and charger in its box "NEW" and never used.

Today, I connected the Iphone ,as same as always do, and started to see that acted really weird and odd but just when connected. So, i decided to Unpack the "NEW" cables that came with the Iphone and it worked flawless. I think the cable brass lighting flat pins are starting to worn out after two years of usage. The Ipad mini still works flawless with the old cable and I haven't see this problem.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue or not.....

When my iPad Mini 2 is charging in the car, I have problems ONLY with the keyboard. And this happens ONLY when charging in the car - it doesn't happen if it's charging on my laptop.

1. Pressing and holding the "backspace" button to erase text will erase only a few characters and then suddenly start adding random letters.

2. Autocorrect stops working

3. Neighbouring keyboard keys will respond to my touches

No other problems like people are describing about opening apps and stuff.

I mean the on-screen keyboard. I thought it might be the charger, but then, why isn't this happening on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5c I also own and charge in the car while typing....

(Sorry, I should have mentioned those additional facts in my original post)

This happens with my 5s also. But only when connected to the iMac. It doesn't act weird when it's connected to the wall socket. It happens both on Apple original and non-Apple USB cables. I never had this problem on my 4s.

I am using iPhone 6 plus and I am also facing the same problem whether it's on charge or not.

It's doing random stuffs, clicking on the apps when I'm not doing anything. I am facing this problem for quite sometime.

It ll be nice if this issue could be solved.

Those are the symptoms of a failing digitizer. Take your phone into Apple for evaluation.

Okay, I had the same problem. Shorn of all the Applesauce, its the adapter (or charger; the thing that plugs into the wall.) The resistors apparently wear out and let too much power to the phone, which promptly gets ADD. Solution is a new adapter, or in an emergency, a battery backup stick.

I have an iPhone 5S. I also have several charger blocks that I keep in different locations. One at work, one at home, one that travels with me.

The block that I have at work is the problematic one. It is a "Designed by Apple in California" and was purchased from an Apple Store. So, the maker of the charger is not the issue. When my phone is plugged into this particular charger, it doesn't alway register my finger presses, it changes screens like there's an invisible finger at work, and it also won't allow the screen to pivot views at times. Basically, the phone acts like it has a mind of its own.

I also noticed that the problematic block get hotter than any of my other blocks. Which is a good sign of something being wrong with the block. My guess is that the block isn't converting the AC to DC properly. The conversion is actually quite complicated and has to be very exacting in the DC power that enters into the phone. So, it's understandable that a block, even manufactured by Apple, might be defective.

The phone doesn't act like this with any of my other charging blocks. So, my guess is that the block is defective and is causing some sort of interference with the phone.

When I use my other blocks, even on the same electrical outlet at work, the problem goes away. Needless to say, I've discarded that block and replaced it. The problem went away immediately.

Only by owning several blacks was I able to figure out why MY PARTICULAR PROBLEM was. I cannot speak for everyone else in this forum, but if you're having this problem again, simply replace the block.

I realise this is very old but, my iPhone 6 suddenly started acting up and the power bar and home screen starting flickering and jumping back and forth very quickly whenever I plugged my iPhone into the Apple charger that sits in my living room.

Turns out I was able to fix this problem very easily, someone else on this forum pointed out that *not all Apple USB wall chargers are the same*.

So I unplugged the Apple charger in the living room and read underneath it that it is for my iPad!

This is the very first I have ever known/realised that not all Apple white plugin/USB chargers are the same.

So if your Apple product is acting weirdly when plugged in to the charger, make sure it is plugged into the charger that came with your Apple product.

Plugged the power cable into the charger that came with my iPhone 6 (in my bedroom) Solved my iPhone 6 problems instantly. Hope this helps someone else.

It is perfectly fine to charge an iPhone with an iPad adapter. In fact, Apple lists them that way. As I have both an iPad and an iPhone, I only carry an iPad adapter rather than carry two chargers.

What is more likely the problem is that one of the cables or adapters has gone bad. That will cause the problems you're describing. Using an iPad adapter will not.

Using anything but a Made For Apple Certified charger is, at best, problematic. At worst, it can do serious damage.

Same issue! This issue was resolved by taking my case off . Regardless of the charger! This is a bit wierd i think but hey at least i know whats wrong! Also; only using iPhone7 org. Chargers. Plug and cable. This issue does not happen when cable - earphones are connected. Happy week! //J
