Downgrading superdrive question.

I've been reading about, and experiencing, some issues with the "super" drive and its tendency not to read or rip certain CD's, even though those CD's work well in the regular combo drive. So:

1. CAN I get this downgraded at an applestore after demonstrating the problem to them.

2. How much money will I get back?

3. Could I put this money to another feature (RAM upgrade)?
