Reminders app alert time keeps disappearing on iPhone 4s

I use my phone's Reminders app frequently and have started having problems with the "Remind me on a day" option. Today I noticed that whenever I set a time and date for a reminder alert, it disappears after a few moments, leaving just the text I entered but no alert time (ie, a reminder to start dinner at 5:00pm on Tuesday will show up properly on the reminders home screen for a few seconds, and then the alert time will disappear, leaving just "Start Dinner"). Since the alert times keep disappearing, none of my reminders actually work at the moment. I also have weekly reminders that I've used for over a year but starting today they now show up as "(null), weekly" underneath the original reminder text.

I exited the app, restarted my phone and then did a hard reset, but nothing has changed the way the app is behaving. Creating a reminder through Siri just gives me the same problem. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with my phone so I'm not sure why it's not working properly. Thanks for any help you can give!

Carpod4...so sorry for getting back to you so late but lol...lets just say that the Blizzard that we're having right now is keeping me on my toes moreso than anything else right now...<😢 thinking Spring thinking Spring>

I'm not familiar with iPods so I don't know what you're talking about with the "texting" bit...but setting up your 2nd verification is simple and I like it only for the reason that in order for me to sign into my Yahoo account I need a code to type in...and that code goes to my iPhone and nowhere else. So that step imo makes me feel safe about nobody else could get into my account without a code that goes to my phone. Then there's the app password which is more involved a tad bit but can also be a PIA when you have to sign in your account on the phone for some reason...even tho you already have it set up you get a pop up to re-enter your pw...then you have to go into your account on a PC and turn all that off to fix whatever the issue may be and then set it up again. I know very confusing for you but if you don't mind having to go back n forth when this pop up comes around<which isn't an always type of thing>then setting up all this is worth it. I'm just going to do the 2-step verification and leave it be. I probably confused you really bad now lol...sorry😟

So...you know I've been on the phone with Apple support Senior Adv. for the past what 3 days now about our issue...He had me restoring my phone with my back up and then trying the Reminder and it still went NULL...then he actually wiped my phone totally clean with the newest version that had just come out 2 days ago and tried it that way...still NULL...and because I couldn't handle not having all my apps and other items and settings the way I had it I just went back in and added my backup to it again. Still didn't fix anything. And he really thought that by wiping it clean would have fixed it. I mentioned that I was writing to Yahoo CS also and it took 4 replies with the photos that I attached for someone to finally understand what I was talking about. Some of it did help my situation but it didn't fix the Reminders. So the Apple guy (Kent who really went to heart and out of his way to keep calling me and wanting to fix this) had basically said that having the Reminders "sync" with anything like Yahoo or whatever wasn't really doing anything for me...if you can understand that...So I went into my Reminders on my phone and opened each one of them and down where it tells you where or what list it's in...we had it saved in the Yahoo Reminders but I went in and changed that to a new Reminder not linked with Yahoo or iCloud and set up a test for one and it worked. Now my biggest concern was my Reminders being saved for me...backed up or whatever...and he told me that the iCloud will back up my Reminders when it does a back up automatically. I wasn't understanding how it'll back it up if it isn't synced/linked with it...but he said that if I were to sign into my iCloud account I'd see it backed up there. So to test this I backed up my iCloud last night and went into my iCloud.com found the icon for Reminders but I'm not seeing my list...so I put a call into my Apple guy so he can help me with that. But all reminders I set in this Reminder list went off without a glitch. I just need to know where its saved to in my iCloud.

Now yesterday after we got home from visiting the Apple store and speaking with a Tech Genius there he moreless confirmed that there's a problem with the Yahoo Reminders and it syncing with our devices. He's the one that showed me how to change mine to a new list as well..But when I got home I had an email from the Yahoo CS and I'm attaching the link here for you to read and see if maybe this helps you at all. Let me know as I've rambled on in here lol...hey what else is there for me to do during this Blizzard 😝

So even if you don't have your reminders synched to ANY email address, this is happening? Do not that many people use reminders?? If most people do, I can't understand why they're not getting so many complaints that the problem has been fixed (although, honestly, I haven't even tried it again since my last post--too frustrating)!

I have to admit, I am confused re. your second paragraph. I do often have to type in my account password when I'm using my phone, and I think it's when I want to check my reminders, but it might be another app. Whichever one it is, it *is* annoying that when I have to keep doing it!

So I checked, and I don't think my "events" aren't even in my Yahoo reminders anyway! They're just under the list with the heading "Reminders". The Yahoo one is the one with the heading that's my name, right? Regardless, I created a new list, but the alarms on the items I entered disappeared with that list as well. That's not happening on your new list??

Cardpod4 did you read the link I posted from yahoo? I did and it didn't help me much. So I actually followed the directions the Apple Genius guy told me to do...which was to open my Reminders and in each one when you open it go to the bottom of it and you'll see it says "Yahoo List" and I changed that to a new list and named it whatever I wanted...Now this list was not linked to Yahoo at all and it was not linked to my iCloud either...BUT...it was being saved each night by my iCloud thru my iCloud...and can check it or add to it anytime I want to just by going to iCloud.com and signing in. I like it much better this way too...Yahoo can't see anything in my Reminders whatsoever...and their working perfectly once again without any glitches whatsoever at all. I'm loving it now.

What part of my 2nd paragraph don't you understand? I pretty much explained how to change your Reminders List very easily...

In your very last paragraph I don't understand any of it. You created a "new list and the alarms on those items disappeared?" Is that right? Because no that's not happening to me at all. I'm not having any problems with my Reminders Lists whatsoever anymore since I changed it over. So how did you make your new list?

DoeZ, I can't remember now what I was confused about. I know that something I did made my reminders disappear completely. I did follow the instructions in that link, and that might have been when it happened, but actually I'm pretty sure my list was never associated with my Yahoo account. I did go into the settings and turn off the reminder app on all my accounts except (I think--don't have my phone with me now) iCloud, and now it's working again!
