I have several games that I occasionally play that take up an enourmous amount of storage (>1GB each). I'm planning a vacation, so I want plenty of free space for the Camera Roll. Is there a way I can delete these games, but save my progress? I'd like to re-download the game after my trip, but I don't want want to start them from the beginning again.

A risky way is to back up your phone to iCloud or iTunes before deleting the app. When you return from your trip, first reinstall the app and then restore the backup.
The downside is that you will lose all data accumulated during the trip and you must disable backups after the app is deleted, resuming only after restoring the backup on your return.
