agree entirely .. it's not just uglier but it's less user friendly ..

what makes it worse is I work with many Latin American companies so have about 19 "Maria's" on my phone.. no photo means I leave it ringing until I'm sure which one is calling !

also I miss the pic of my wife and kids when they call ..

cannot find any toggle to switch it back :(

hopefully it's patched in 7.1.1

My eyes are not what they used to be and I could see who was calling without having to put on my glasses. It should for the very least be an option in assistivity .

 has fixed issues for people who had motion sickness ,so why not leave something useful for people who are not spring chickens anymore .

I fear Apple UI design left usability behind long ago and is now all about what the Millennials working on it think looks cool to them, much like the way IOS 7 did away with skeuomorphism because hey, hasn't everyone used smartphones all their lives?

Sometimes I think Ive would prefer it if the Apple UI remained a white screen that never changed no matter what you did…

I do not have this problem, maybe I can shed some light onto this dreadful situation. So, I have full screen caller id on my iphone 5 ios7, I altered a few things though. I think what I did is the following. Ill have to explain from the start...

A while back I had a BlackBerry :O and it synced my contacts with facebook and the pics for caller id too (from their profile picture), when I transferred to my iphone 5 the same pics were there and I synced it with facebook again, not really sure if that changed anything. Anyway when I did the ios 7 update I had the same problem and so for my main/ most popular contacts I added a picture from my iphone photo library. Also some of my contacts e.g. Mum do not have facebook and so I also added this from my library. I already did some of this on ios6, but reapplied it again on ios7.

Also my main contacts are all in my favorites, maybe by putting it in the favorites list it makes it full screen caller id?

In short... try using a photo from your iphone photo library, and if you did this in ios6 do it again in ios7. You can also delete the picture afterwards and it still works. Then if that doesnt work put the contact into favorites.

Anyhow, this is what I did and it worked so hope it works for you too. 😀 Good luck.

Upgrade to 7.1 and your full screen photos will disappear.

The best way for all of us to try and get the old call screen back is to provide feedback diretly to Apple, becuase they do not look at these forums. So we need to send in feedback, then we need to tell as many people as we can, and get them all to go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and get them to fill it out. We need to do this as many times as we can and let Apple know that we are not happy with the new changes. We can get our favorite old features back if we try hard enough!!

Please bring back full screen picture caller id at least as an option immediately. As an older man I relied on being able to see who was calling before I picked up the phone. With my eyesight I can't tell anything from that little circle. I spent many hours making and taking pictures and now it's useless. Had I know this would happen I wouldn't have upgraded to 7.1. This was one of the selling points for my wife and I when we bought our iPhones. I'm as frustrated as the rest of the people here. Bring it back NOW.
