iOS 7.1 Personal Hotspot APN settings won't save on iPhone 4

Hello,

I am facing a problem, which would be great to resolve. Since I updated to iOS 7.1 I can't set APN setttings for Personal Hotspot in my iPhone. If I go to Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Settings, and I set the APNs(for data+mms) and i go back to save the freshly set APN settings then it saves, but if I touch any fields in the "Personal Hotspot" section (even focusing) and I go back the same way any changed value won't save (e.g. I also change data APN). In the menu "Cellular" there is an option for personal tethering where it just keeps loading and after a ehile it becomes an available option, but if I click on it it displays an error message like: "...contact: Carrier". So I tried everything, I reset my network settings, did 3 full restore(via iTunes, in recovery mode and DFU too). Then finally I downgraded to iOS 6.1.2 and guess what, it started working.. Then I thought it repaired some settings bug which burned in my device and I restored 7.1 in DFU. Now it is not working again. I need the help of community since I need hotspot tethering so hard everyday for my job. Thanks in advance!

Same problem here! Updated iPhone 4 16GB to iOS 7.1 and now i can't use a personal hotspot anymore!

Now that peace and happiness and tethering have returned to the iPhone community thanks to IOS 7.1.1. (including those of us with iPhone 5's, like me, who also lost tethering), I will make only one comment: I will never install an update until 1 to 2 weeks have gone by after its release, and I've had time to see what people in the community have to say about the update.

I just really would not want ever again to go through something like we went through for 4 or 5 weeks.

After upgrade to iOS 7.1.1, tethering has appeared in Malaysia with U Mobile. Great!!!

Try reset network settings or a full restore.

May be try this after update go setting then setting>>reset>>Reset Network setting then after restart back to Setting>>Cellular >>Cellular data network scroll down and try to save APN common "internet"

I have the same problem. I a person hotspot set up and working great, i updated my iPhone 4 it has now disappeared. I live in Uk and I am on O2.

I am in Taiwan with Fareastone as service provided. I have gone around and around for over 3 months trying to get my Hotspot.working again after upgrading to 7.1.

Fareastone is an official Hotspot company with Apple.

I gave up ... got an Android phone with different service provider and it is working great.

Shame on Apple for not working with their partners and fixing this issue.
