iOS 7.1 Personal Hotspot APN settings won't save on iPhone 4

Hello,

I am facing a problem, which would be great to resolve. Since I updated to iOS 7.1 I can't set APN setttings for Personal Hotspot in my iPhone. If I go to Settings -> Cellular -> Cellular Data Settings, and I set the APNs(for data+mms) and i go back to save the freshly set APN settings then it saves, but if I touch any fields in the "Personal Hotspot" section (even focusing) and I go back the same way any changed value won't save (e.g. I also change data APN). In the menu "Cellular" there is an option for personal tethering where it just keeps loading and after a ehile it becomes an available option, but if I click on it it displays an error message like: "...contact: Carrier". So I tried everything, I reset my network settings, did 3 full restore(via iTunes, in recovery mode and DFU too). Then finally I downgraded to iOS 6.1.2 and guess what, it started working.. Then I thought it repaired some settings bug which burned in my device and I restored 7.1 in DFU. Now it is not working again. I need the help of community since I need hotspot tethering so hard everyday for my job. Thanks in advance!

Can confirm this happening in Japan too. My carrier is DTI which is reseller of NTT Docomo (largest phone company in Japan), same as everyone else I can't store my APN settinsg for Hotspot, it keeps my APN settings for Cellular just fine. Have spoken to Apple a couple of times & they have been helpful but unaware of the issue or a fix, I was supposed to call back this morning to speak to an engineer but have been busy driving all day (and wishing hotspot would work so my wife could use my net!!). Will call as soon as i can. But i guess the more they hear from us the faster they will elevate the issue.

Have let the Apple reps i have spoken to so far know about this discussion & they said they were reading it as i was chatting to them so fingers crossed its already being made aware to the software developers!

After several chats with Apple Support they told me that a supervising support engineer will call me back and will then probably report this problem directly to the developers.

I haven't received a call at the scheduled time so far.

They are either aware of the problem or they have chosen to ignore it.

I'll have to take the missing reaction of Apple into consideration when I'll buy a new phone.

I need a working system for business and cannot afford Beta-Testing unfinished software!

I posted this on my blog on Friday http://vcnltd.blogspot.de/2014/03/ios-71-personal-hotspot-apn-settings.html and have received mor than 500 hits that lead back to this thread so why is it taking Apple developers so long to react to our problems that they caused? Articles are now popping out internationally addressing this issue and so far, no one has found a solution.

Thank you Apple for stealing my productivity. I hope you are going to provide a fix till tomorrow, otherwise i'm forced to buy a new Android phone tomorrow.

I really appreciate what and you do, but this case makes me re-thinking my whole situation. Almost a wewk passed now, hundreds and maybe even thousands of people are complaining about the issue and there isn't even an offical statement yet? Are you serious? Is this what you call customer satisfaction? Many of us are business people and require a working hotspot for teleworking.

Apple, pleaaaaseee fix this. Thank you.
