Battery drain problem still persist after ios 7.1 update

I am still experiencing battery drain issue after updated to ios 7.1 after first experiencing the issue when updated to ios 7.0.6. Have try all the reset fix options, battery optimization measures etc suggested by apple techies and communities today and back then. But my juices kept spilled out like a deluge water.

Anybody experienced this today or have any fix suggestions to this as it seems that ios 7.1 is not solving it at all, which is very dissapointing considering the expectation before ios 7.1 was released.

This occurs to my iphone 5c ios 7.1 16gb only, and not happened to my ipad mini wifi 16gb with ios 7.1.

In your case it's a polar opposite to mine but it's disturbing anyway that these problem exist right.? It is that serious that it effectively render our iphone useless and Apple need to investigate this seriously. One other thing that happen and quite worrying me is that my iphone overheat occasionally since this battery drain issue start appears on my iphone. To an extent that I no longer put it in my pocket when driving or commuting because you can feel the heat burning on your dermis. It reminds me of one American achoolgirl case where her iphone overheat and caught fire in her classroom.

You have to restore your iPhone as new. Don't restore from backup ! For Export/Import SMS you can use iBackupBot (This is howto http://www.idownloadblog.com/2014/03/06/how-to-back-up-restore-sms-messages/)

Re-Install your apps and use iCloud for notes, calendar, etc. You may want to save your picture from Camera Roll (you'll not be able to restore in CameraRoll anyway).

This what I did and now everything is fine.

I have been having the same issues with my iphone 5 when I updated to ios 7.0.6. I too have tried all the various fixes including wiping and setting up as new. The only thing that stops the batery drain is Airplane mode. Additionallty Wifi is not staying connected on networks that had previously been reliable.

I contacted Apple and they ran a diagnostic on the phone and it checked out ok.

They offered be advise on battery saving measures. In essence turning off the features that were used to sell me the phone.

I was hoping for 7.1 to be the savior for this last night I updated and I am NO better off.

I do not know what else to do. I am 14 months into a 2 year contract and 2 months past the 1 year Apple care.

I have spent countless hours tring to narrow down which feature turned off will stop this battery drain but the Wifi issue would still remain.

My phone is now a source of frustration...a very expensive one!
