Iphone 5s battery drains fast after ios 7.1 update.

Yes, I have tried everything mentioned in this string (background app refresh, notifications, LBS, etc, etc, etc) for over 2 months-even had the phone replaced.

The information was sent to engineering last night and now it's a matter of time until I hear back from the Executive offices on the outcome. Could be a week or more.

Will reply when I have an update.

hi guys, i even went to change a new battery.....nothing seem to work...it is still draining....so dont waste your money....Apple has to resolve the draining issue...it is within the software...i am getting very upset

As I mentioned much earlier, I too replaced the battery to no avail, drain is still terrible.

This is really frustrating. Apple are not accepting the fact that this is their fault. It doesn't make sense to be told to switch almost everything to save on the battery charge. We bought an iphone to be able to use all of its features. After they did a diagnostic test i was told i had a healthy phone....lol what a joke

Just got my iPhone 5s back from engineering after 2 trips to the Apple Store. They replaced the battery, after the diagnostics gave it a clean bill of health. I still have severe battery drain (won't hold a charge overnight). No idea what to do now.

not sure if I read it on this forum or not but I thought to share this. im not sure who, but someone had the idea of letting the battery completely die, charging the phone to 50%, unplug your iphone and reset your settings(Setting>general>reset>reset all settings). This does NOT erase your contents. You simply just lose wifi passwords, backgrounds, etc. you can easily redo your settings as they were before. then continue to charge to 100%. Once it's 100% charged, let your iphone charge for an additional hour then unplug. This worked amazingly for me. My phone used to drop a percent as soon as I unplugged it, and 10 percent when I let is sit on standby for a short period of time. After doing this, my phone lasts me all day. Hopefully this works for you guys also.

For me the problem was fixed by just powering down the phone completely and starting it back up. Sorry for those who've tried more drastic steps, like having the battery changed out; but to no avail. Apple should just replace your phone, IMHO.

You didn't really have an issue if you just powered down and everything was fine...you had a minor glitch, which is not what anyone here is discussing. And the issue is that tons of people have phones beyond the warranty period and spending $600 to replace the phone due to poor battery life is unacceptable. Apple needs to step up to fix the software issue, or be able to diagnose hardware issues and offer a fixable alternative to a full replacement!!

It is OK from their end. People are still buying iPhones and they're not spending money sorting out the problems - result!

Glitch? Whatever that is, I hope that's all it was. When my battery wasn't holding a charge and I found this thread, I sure as **** thought I had the same issue. Very relieved to see things return to normal; $850 investment didn't go down the tubes.

And that's exactly what I said, Apple should do right by its customers and simply replace those phones.

THe thing not everyone is lucky to get phone replaced. Apple keep saying that nothing is wrong with phone since diagnostic test came out good. However they cannot explain why one day battery was lasting for a day and then just after i got the updatw it drains after 6 hours

Any improvement on 5s battery with ios 7.1.2 ? Still on ios 7.0.5 and don't want to upgrade until the battery is fixed if ever In ios 7.x..

Has 7.1.2 been announced? I haven't seen anything.

Ios 7.1.2 is live in Great Britain..
