Battery drain on iPhone 5s after iOS 7.1 OTA Update

It doesn't matter how good your WiFi signal is, if the phone goes to sleep it disconnects from WiFi to save the battery. WiFi uses power continuously, whether it is exchanging data or not, so keeping the connection up will quickly drain the battery. UNLESS the phone is connected to power. So if you are at home simply keep your phone plugged in and it will maintain a data connection over WiFi.

This will NOT stop the cellular module from trying to establish a connection, which will still drain energy. But not as much as data transfer.
