Since upgrading to iOS 7.1 my signal strength varies erratically. Frequently I get "No Service". Signal strength drops from 3-4 bars to 1 and calls fail repeatedly. Anyone else having these issues or have a solution?

I also have the same issue, Verizon iPhone 5s. upgraded to 7.1 around 530pm, as soon as it finished i lost service. i have wifi accessibility, but i either have five empty circles in the service bar, or it says no service.

restored the phone, turned it on and off, turned on airplane mode, reset network settings, erased all settings and content, nothing works.

Did you restore it from a backup or did you set it up fresh?

i did restore it from a backup cause i wanted to get my things back. but i also hit the plain "restore my iphone" button, waited til it rebooted, and then restored it off of an itunes backup. no service at any point.

right now i've just got empty circles next to "Verizon"

Same here, I have a solution :

Take out sim then switch off your device then go to graveyard and bury it, do google for new android phone and but the one you like most.

The problem is that is that people want a phone that last so much (battery life) but is a phone that is doing so much at the same time that it will requiers battery!! I just thing that nothing is perfect and you will not find a perfect phone. I just know that for me apple made a great revolution with phones and you have to give them credit for making one fo the best phones ever!!

I am having the same issue since upgrading to IOS 7.1 on my iPhone 5S. I thought it was a tower problem, now I'm not so sure. Very erratic signal strength and for the first time I get the 'no service'. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I'm having the same issue on my iphone 4S since upgrading to IOS 7.1.

At first I thought is was a carrier problem and I even changed my Sim card for a new one, but it didn't solve the problem.

Then I put my sim card in another phone and it worked just fine, so I tried:

Reset network settings,

Reset all settings,

Restore my phone with the previous backup,

Restore my phone as new

And any of these worked for me. After almost losing hope I turned off my 3g connection and the signal came back, even when I was using wi-fi. Also the battery life is a million times better.

So I called apple support and they told me that it seams to be a hardware malfunction and because my guarantee is expired I have to pay to get it changed for a new one.

I think they don't know what they are doing and don't know how to fix it so it's easier to blame the hardware and charge us for they mistakes.

I'm still waiting for some update to solve my problem because before the update 7.1 I had a perfect functional phone.

Exactly the same for me.... upgraded to 7.1 and now I'm getting "no service" in my home. Sometimes I will get 1 bar, but mostly no service. I've had this iPhone 5 for over a year and have NEVER had the problem of "no service" from my home.

This IS an upgrade issue. FIX IT Apple!

so as usual apple sling a deaf ear and blame the carriers this is nothing to do with carriers as i rolled back to 7.0.6 and gues what? no problem. so actually recognise you have a problem and sort out a patch or should we switch to samsung? you can tell jobs has gone as noone cares about the product anymore

im also on 5 s without any problems in any of the locations i am in for the last 7 years so dont blame the carriers apple sort it out

your right thats their usual reply blame the hardware or the carrier because they havent tested it properly before release. rip off again.just roll back

Yes I am also havinrg same problem on my iphone 4s after upgrading to ios 7.1 😟.

its happening frequently now.....plz apple give a fix to this issue.

Its not the carriers....hope to get a fix soon.

the issue is not solved in 7.1.1 update... 😟. i am really disappointed in apple this time.

I cant talk over phone as calls fails very frequently now....its really irritating.

My phone is in warranty period....

guys plz help me...can i change my phone in service center.

me too as usual apple just dont listen and ignore everyone. if jobs was still around the problem would be sorted. but since the clowns took over the circus all they want to do is make money not good products
