hello, after I download OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 I've got error message "OS X Mavericks cannot be installed on this computer."
I have a Macbook Pro with 10.6.8
Model Name: MacBook Pro
Model Identifier: MacBookPro8,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Any advice?

Is the MBP one of these?
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
If so, contact theApp Store and let them sort things out for you.
Did you download it from the App Store, or from the Apple Downloads web site?
That error should appear before you can download.
If it is from the Apple Downloads website, that is not the installer but an update.
If none of that applies, follow baltwo's advice.

So, since you can download it, it will run on your Mac. Can you post the exact error message?
Take a screen shot using Cmd-Shift-4, drag around the error message, then post the picture here by using the Camera icon.
It might be a problem with the drive format or something like that. Did you ever use that drive as a destination for Time Machine?
Try starting up in Recovery and Repair the disk.

I boot up in the recovery mode, repair my disk and I found errors on my disk, I back up all my files, erase Macintosh HD and install new copy of OS X.
I'm now using OS X Mavericks.
