Repair or buy another?
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some opinions. I've owned my iPod touch 4th generation for a long time, so my warranty and coverage have long since expired. My home button stopped working about a year ago so I've been using the "Assistive touch" option since then, which has worked just fine. Recently, my top button (power/lock-screen) has stopped working as well. It is a real pain to have to plug my iPod in or wait for a notification so the screen can light up in order for me to use it. I'm wondering if it would be better (or cheaper) to send it in to have these two buttons repaired, buy a refurbished iPod, or buy a new one? I'm trying to avoid buying a new iPod touch and would like instead to send it in for repairs, but I have had no luck calling Apple about this. Does anyone know the approximate costs of repairs? Should I even bother sending it in or should I just start looking for another iPod? There are no Apple stores within 120 miles of my where I live so taking it to an Apple Store is out of the question.
Thank you!
