Arabic Keyboard wrong

Hi all,
so I found out how I can activate the multiligual featuers of Mac...however, the keyboard is not typing correctly. The language settings are done, the language stickers are on my keyboard as well, but when I type it doesn't give me the correct characters and when I press shift to type the alternative letters associated with the same keystroke, it does the english language instead ( I mean it brings up whatever will come if you press shift while typing in English...)
And some keystrokes it is doing the opposite!! Its typing the letter that it should type when you press shift!!

ANY IDEAS?!

PS: I am confident of which keystroke is supposed to type which letter as I've been using arabic keyboard on PC for years.

MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Just to make sure, have you done the following:
Apple Menu > International > Input Menu (a tab)

From the Input Menu tab, select the appropriate Arabic input method. I don't know anything about Arabic input method, but from what I can see, there are two methods:
1. Arabic
2. Arabic-QWERTY

You can select both by checking them

Then, at the bottom of the window, select Show input menu in menu bar.

Once you do that, you'll notice a new menu item. From that menu item, select the appropriate Arabic input method. Then type in your regular browser. Does it work? I hope so.

Your PC experience may not be that helpful. To see which keystroke types which letter on a Mac, you need to activate Keyboard Viewer in system prefs/international/input menu. Also there are two layout choices, Arabic and Arabic Qwerty.

There is an Arabic Windows keyboard layout you can download here:

See this note for some general info:

Let us know if you still have problems.

now I downloaded that arabic windows layout *the
first on your list) but not quite sure how I add it??

Put the file in Home/Library/Keyboard Layouts and logout/login. Then you should be able to check its box in system prefs/international/input menu and select it in the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder.

This layout was done a long time ago, so let me know if it works. It is not difficult to modify such files using this tool:
