I need microsoft office 2013 for word excel and power point for MacBook Air - I will be doing testing for a job on Friday and the test will be using the Office 2013 version...How can I go about downloading it or buying the installment.

You can purchase Office for Mac 2011 or Office 365 from this site. There is no Office for Mac 2013.

Or, you need to install Windows and Microsoft Office 2013 (for Windows). You will need to purchase both of them.
Will it essentially be the same as having office 2013?

If "it" = Office 365, then yes, "it" would essentially be the same, as far as the capability to handle documents, etc.
