I upgraded my iPad to iOS 7.1 and now the option to set Safari into Private browsing has disappeared. Any hints where this is moved now?
iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 7.1
Tap "Private" to turn Private Browsing on/off (tap to enlarge image)
When top is white Private Browsing is off (tap to enlarge image)
When top is black Private Browsing is on.
FYI the option to tap "Private" on Safari let bottom is no longer there is iOS 7.1.
Tap on the Search Bar if you do not see "Private"
Nothing happens after tapping search bar.
Tap the "+" sign on top right.
That just opens another tab.
Close Safari in the multi-task window and try again
1.Double-click the Home button.
2. Swipe the Safari app's preview up to close it.

Yes, and at the bottom left of the new tab window is the option to go into Private browsing mode.
This did not help either.
Did you look at bottom left?
Yes. I know where this setting used to be, but after the upgrade to iOS 7.1 this disappeared.
Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
In iOS 7.1 I cannot find how to set Safari to Private browsing on iPad. Does anyone know?
