iOS 7 Email Signature Issues

I have been experiencing issues with showing email signatures with images on my iOS 7 and 7.1 decices. I post this topic on the iPad section because the same issue is showing up on both my iPhone 5S and my iPad Mini 2. Since my iPad is less than 24 hours old I figure this is an issue with iOS 7 since both devices are showing the same error.

I have a work email signature which has some text and 8 images. I am trying to simply use the same signature that I use for my works webmail and Outlook. So according to my research I found that it is possible to add an HTML email signature on my iPhone and iPad which are both on iOS 7.1 currently but the same issue was with 7 up to now. So I read that for email signatures that have more than just text(images and HTML) you simply email that signature to your self and copy the email signature and then paste in with that specific emails signature section under Settings - Mail - Signature and then that specific email.

When I did this the signature was able to paste just fine and display as I wanted it and even correctly used HTML image and text links that I have in it.

I was then able to reply to work emails as well as compose them with the email signature working just fine. But when I either tried to compose or reply to a work email abut the 3rd or 4th time I would see the email signature text and text html links working but each image turned into a white box. I first closed out of the settings apps to see if it was a glitch and found out that this change happens for some reason. So I then have to repete my copy and past process to get the signature back to the way I had it again.

The same thing happens ever time after about 3 tries to see if the email signature is working or not.

So my question is how can I use my html email signature on my iPhone and iPad with iOS 7.1 so the images do not turn into white boxes and stay exactly like I paste them in the email signature field?

This gets very old copy and pasting that soon each time. Does anyone have a solution that would allow me to set up the email signature how I want by a copy and paste and when I send an email with the default mail app on iOS 7.1 the email signature stays as it should?

Here is a screenshot of my email signature before and after so you can see what I am talking about (I did blur personal data to protect me)

hi

i work around it in the following way for my corporate email signature.

created logo and text (address etc.) in windows pc on paint brush saved it as jpeg , emailed it to myself, saved that image in the camera roll under a separate heading (signature) just to avoid scrolling through the entire roll. Once i am done composing my message i hold the screen on my iPhone from the options select "insert phone or video" then select signature and its done.

hope this helps

cheers

Fixed......

This is has been annoying me for a couple of days, my employer wanted me to format my emails to the company logo etc, I use my iPhone and iPad most of the time and like everyone else has found any pics or logos disappear after you shut down the mail app....sorted!

FIrsty you have to set this up on a PC (or one of those Mac things)!

in your browser search for "signaturecloud.co", there is also an app on the App Store (however, I have found there is no need to use it).

When you have found the website, create a profile for yourself to access the signature creation software. As always I was a little hesitant about giving a contact email, expecting an influx of junkmail........nothing so far.

Next create the signature block in the function box displayed on the website, add text as required, pictures from file etc.

When you are happy with the look, click the big green fisher price button under the window "update signatures"

Highlight the entire signature block including pictures, then use ctrl+c to copy (it won't let you right click copy)

Paste the signature block into an email (I use windows live mail) using ctrl+v, ........send yourself an email

Open this email on you iOS device select the signature block and "copy"

Open settings/ mail, contacts, calendars / signatures.......touch and hold the box for the email account you wish to change and "paste"

The website gives the option to apply the signature block to your ios/ tablets etc, I declined that option as this fix appears to have done the trick.

I have tested my iPhone and iPad email apps with full hard resets and the logos have not disappeared!!! 🙂

Hope this helps

SOLUTION BELOW!!!

I searched endlessly for about a week to figure this out because I wanted my new corporate email to look nice and shiny for everyone I send emails to. And I actually found a solution.

1) Copy the code for your HTML signature on a desktop device.

2) Paste the code for your signature into Notepad or some such text editor.

3) Save the file as an HTML file (ex: signature.html) - NOT a text file

4) Upload the signature to a cloud service, (in my case I used Dropbox)

5) Install Dropbox app on your phone

6) Open Dropbox app on your phone, click on the HTML file you just created (signature.html)

7) This will bring up a screen which displays the full HTML signature with images (not the coding). Copy this signature from the screen.

8) Paste this in the regular Settings>Mail>Signatures... area of the Apple mail app

9) VOILA!!! Amazingly, this works! Even after resetting my phone, it works beautifully!

I presume this may work if you simply email yourself an attachment of the HTML file with the signature, and click on the attachment on the phone, and copy from the page file that then appears. Thus you wouldn't need Dropbox. But I didn't need to try that because it already worked for me with Dropbox.

Good luck everyone!

I seem to have solved this for my devices - iPhone 4s and iPad3 running iOS 8.

Get the whole signature inc. image looking right on your PC. Send yourself an email. Open or receive the email on your apple device. Select the whole signature, copy and paste into your iPad/iPhone mail signature. You are now at the step that the image is there, but not there in new emails. Go back to the email from you in your inbox, press and hold the signature image and save a copy to your photo album on the device. Now, in new emails, the image appears. It just seems to need to draw on the image locally.

Hope that helps!

I have tried everything to add a email signature or so I thought!!!

After about 20 tries I found a way that works 100%.

All you have to do is first send yourself an email from Outlook that has you Email Signature on it; then copy and past it into a new email on your iPhone.

Once you have done this click cancel and it will ask you if you want to save the draft??? Click yes.

Now here is the best part when you open your mail icon; look at the bottom right hand corner where you would touch to create a new email.

Push and hold until it opens and it will bring up your draft to use as a new email.

As long as you have this draft you will always be able to have a signature when sending a new email; but it has to be done the way I described!!!

Good luck: David
