I can't open .mov attachments in mail with ios 7.1? Please help?

Here's what we discovered.

Go back to the email that has the attachment and scroll all the way to the bottom of the email. There "should" be a blue highlighted option to "Download full message".

Select that and then tap the attachment icon to play it.

I am having the same problem and it also seems that it's only happening with my exchange-account. POP ist fine. But exchange also works if the file is not large - a 3 second video worked fine, a 5 second video didn't work anymore.

I need help. My email messages do not have the link to "Download the Full Message". I need to open attachments to review work from my students and give quick feedback. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Okay, that didn't take long.

You have now moved out the area where I may have been able to help.

It sounds (to me) like an issue with an email server or "Office" setting that is blocking/failing to process the attachment so that the actual file never even gets sent to the phone.

The only thing I can suggest is to get with the IT/IS folks that handle your email server and see if they can help you locate the problem.

I my case there is no button - I can't even scroll down. But I also don't get any error message, especially not "domain error 912".

If I try to open the .mov file the screen shows the movie-progressbar (where you can normally scroll through the video) for half a second and then the screen goes gray. In the middle of the gray screen I can see the file name and the text "QuickTime-Film" (german version) and the file size. Underneath is a "play-button" (with no reaction if I click on it) and the buttons for forwarding the movie and the button for airplay. No "Download full message"-button.

Seems that we are having different problems with more or less the same result. Again, it only seems to happen with mail which was sent through MS Exchange and it started with IOS 7.1. Therefore I don't think that we can fix it but I hope that someone from Apple is "listening".

My fault! I misunderstood your posting - I was looking for a "download full message"-Button on the screen AFTER clicking on the movie icon. But you meant the mail itself - and there I found it. Thanx! That also explains why small mail went through without problems but larger didn't.

I've had this issue too. Had no issues saving and/or playing .mov files before from an exchange mail account but have lost this functionality on both my ipad and iphone after updating?

Are you running an Exchange server for your email?

I have limited my issue to the exchange email address, my POP account is fine.

Please describe to me what happens when you tap the attachment icon.

It comes up with a message that says error office import error domain error 912.
