How do I remove the US Holidays calendar from my iOS7.1 iphone calendar.?
I have switched it off, but would also like to remove it.
It is not showing up on my icalendar on my Mac 10.9.2

Hi! I was wondering the same thing. It won't delete but if you open your calendar and then select calendars at the bottom...instead of clicking the "I" click the check mark to uncheck it and it will delete or hide the holidays.
yup worked just fine. i never had the holidays on the calendar until probably a year ago. have had mac/iphone/ipad for years so i would've had t put it on there to begin with. i did as above and it went away since i've decided not to have it on there anymore.
If you added it from your Mac, open Calendar on your Mac and go to Calendar>Preferences>General and uncheck "Show Holidays calendar". If you subscribed to a holiday calendar on your Mac, control-click on the calendar and choose Delete.
I never added the US Holodys calendar on my mac. It showed up on my iphone after upgrading to ios 7.1.
Any additional ideas?
Open the Calendars app on your phone, tap Calendars at the bottom, tap the "i" to the right of the holiday calendar and scroll to the bottom to see if it gives you a delete option. If not, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and see if it is listed there. If so, tap it and delete it.
- There is no delete option on the i button on the calendars just an option to change the color.
- There are no calendars listed in settings>mail,contacts,calnedars

Hmmm, it appears that it cannot be delete, only hidden. I can't delete it on my phone either, but it does appear on my Mac and I can delete it from there. If your Mac is syncing calendars with iCloud, the calendar subscription should have been pushed to your Mac. If you don't see it, you could try going to System Preferences>iCloud, unchecking Calendars, choosing Delete from Mac (they will still be in iCloud), restarting your Mac, then checking Calendars again to see if it appears now.
Followed your steps but they did not work.
The issue is the following: the US Holiday calendar is not in iCloud category in my iphone (7.1) but in Other category along with the Birthdays calendar just above the Show decelined events button.

Mine is the same way, and from what I'm reading in similar posts it seems that this was added with iOS 7.1 and cannot be deleted (for example, see http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1715108).

Apparently it was part of the beta version and it was not given a delete option.

I don't think it's a beta version. I believe they just added the Holiday calendar option to the iOS just as the Birthday calendar option was previously added. You can't delete the Birthday calendar from settings either, you can only choose to uncheck it and not use it.
Wouldn't be so bad if this were actual US holidays. It appears to be some kind of a mix of particular religious events and government holidays. Having a notification that soley features Government holidays would actually be quite useful.
I disabled the holiday calendar on my iPad Air and iPhone by by going to the calendar app and following these steps.
Touch calendar on the bottom of the page
Scroll down to the US holidays
Uncheck on the left side
It should take off all holidays from the calendar.
Thanks, Gordoapa - but I am afraid that's not what users here were looking for. We prefer to completely remove (delete) the holiday calendar, not just switch off the display of the holiday entries in the calendar.
