MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) USB port issue

I own a MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2009) which as far as I can tell should have two 2.0 USB ports. Instead I noticed when checking about my mac that it has two 1.0 ports. How could that have come about, were some versions of that macbook produced with the older USB port? How could I upgrade that to the 2.0 version?

Thanks for any help with this!

I do not know if MacBook Pro's manufactured when yours was had USB 1.0 posts (which I assume you read from "about this Mac").

I seriously doubt if there is any way to upgrade the ports.

As an aside, unless you are pushing an enormous amount of data through USB ports, any speed difference would be almost impossible to detect. I have two USB 3.0 ports and I cannot discern any performance differences from older USB ports (in regard to overall processing time). Most of my USB activity runs in the background (Time Machine, for example) and makes no impact on other activities.

Hi. Thanks everybody for your answerd. As LexSchellingssaid this model should have two 2.0 ports as also mentioned on this webpage: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-2-duo-2 .8-aluminum-15-mid-2009-sd-unibody-specs.html

Here's a image of my info page, as you can see it's two USB 1.0 ports.

I can defenitely survive with 1.0 ports but it's irritating to have to wait 2 days to have a time machine back up performed instead of a few hours. Plus I just wanna figure out how this could come about to start with, as 1.0 ports were outdated when this laptop was produced.

Thanks again for any answers and thoughts!
