Now, may I suggest that everyone go to the Apple Feedback page and post your thanks and glowing praise for how quickly Apple fixed this issue.
I know, it may not seem quick, but let me assure you, by Apple standards, this was incredibly fast.
Of course, you want to do the same for Netflix.
You call a month "quick"? How would you like it if you bought a new car and there was a recall to update the software for the transmission, but the same update inadvertently "broke" all of your radio's speakers except for one in the rear, right door. How would you feel about this?
There's no need to praise Apple or Netflix or anyone else for fixing something that should never have broken in the first place. They'll automatically know if they are receiving indirect praise when the sales stop decreasing and subscriptions stop canceling.
zroger, I feel and understand your frustration, but your analogy is way out of line, and your expectations for software updates are unrealistic.
In the big scheme of things, not having DD for a month is a very minor inconvenience. I watched a number of movies during that time, and enjoyed them all. Yes, DD would have been better, but NOT having DD did NOT destroy my movie experience.
Software updates are very complex today, and yes, I also agree that the developers should spend more time testing before making a release. Of course, that just delays the release, which is what you are complaining about.
Again, if you have any experience with Apple, you will know that they are slower than most to make/release changes/fixes. They have higher standards than most, and review every app submitted to them.
If you don't want to thank Apple, then so be it. My only thought is that the Apple Developers are more likely to respond positively to a "thanks" for their quick fix that they are to either no feedback or negative feedback. I think most of us have already expressed our negative feedback when we reported the issue.
IAC, have a great day, and enjoy the return of DD to your Netflix movies. 🙂
